Terms of Service
BAOZAO is free to use offline; PRO is an optional subscription. It is not psychotherapy, nor is it a medical service.
1. The agreement
These terms apply between you and TJ NOVA LTD (Company No. 17308318, England and Wales) when you use the BAOZAO app or the website www.baozao.cc. By using the app you accept these terms.
2. What the app is
Baozao is an entertainment and emotional-venting app. It contains scripted characters that respond to what you type, a journal, a grudge list, small stress-relief tools and offline games. The built-in characters are local scripts: they are not real people and they do not connect to any server. The one exception is AI Companion Chat, a PRO feature that is off by default: while you have it switched on, the messages you send in that chat go to our server to generate replies, as the Privacy Policy explains.
3. What it is not
The app does not provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal or financial advice. It is not a substitute for professional help. If you are in distress or thinking of harming yourself, please contact someone you trust or a local crisis line. In mainland China you can call 12356.
4. Strong language
The app deliberately contains strong language. The characters direct it at whoever you say upset you, never at you. It is rated for adults. If this is not for you, please do not install it.
5. Your content
Anything you write stays on your device. We never receive it, so we claim no rights over it and we cannot moderate, recover or delete it for you. Keeping a backup is your responsibility (Me → Backup & Restore).
6. Price
The app is free to use and has no advertising. BAOZAO PRO is an optional subscription sold through the app store you installed BAOZAO from, in three plans: monthly (US$9.99), quarterly (US$19.99) or yearly (US$59.99); your store shows the exact price in your currency before you pay. PRO unlocks rage levels 6–10, custom characters, all the venting tools and AI Companion Chat. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it in your store account; payments and refunds are handled by that store under its rules. People who bought the earlier one-time PRO unlock keep it. The "buy a tea" screen is an animation with no payment of any kind; the interface states this on screen.
7. Third-party components
The app bundles open-source games and a sound sample, each under its own licence. The list and licences are shown in-app under Me → About → Third-party notices, and in games/THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.
8. Availability and changes
We may update or discontinue the app at any time. Because the app runs offline, a version you already installed will keep working. We provide the app "as is", without warranties, to the extent permitted by law.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TJ NOVA LTD is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including loss of the data stored on your device. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

BAOZAO is free, offline, ad-free, and has no in-app purchases. "Do Good Deeds" is an animation; it involves no real payment, as stated on the interface.
The four characters are local scripts, not AI, and don't connect to the internet. The app is not psychotherapy and can't replace professional help; if you have thoughts of harming yourself, reach out to someone nearby or call the psychological support hotline 12356.
What you write stays only on your phone; we can't receive it, so we can't help you recover or delete it. If you want to keep it, export your own backup.
